Reasons why I'm excited for Dr. Dave but not shocked that he's getting married:

1. He's funny.
2. He speaks multiple languages.
3. He exercises often and is in good shape.
4. He's intelligent.
5. He's adventurous.
6. His name is Dave.

Seriously, it had a high probability of happening sometime. Awesome.

I asked him if we could crash the wedding, and I got the brush off. I couldn't figure it out, though--he said the wedding is in Tennessee--he'll fly there and be there for 2 days, and then they're taking off. What's their connection to tennessee, anyway? I'm upset--we could have had a big reunion in Egypt to celebrate. I'm up for an Egyptian wedding, I don't know about you guys.
David, you're right, though--I think it's the name.
Alissa

hmm I am shocked, but I did not seem to get the email. Would anyone mind forwarding it to me?

I feel that I am a bit of an authority on weddings in Cairo for three reasons. I went to a muslim wedding, I went to a coptic wedding and I am in communication with a musilm friend who is getting married in three days.
Dave doesnt want a wedding in Cairo. If you think that American weddings are intense, you havent seen anything. Am I right Bryan? Am I right Phil? :)
No, I totally understand why the wedding isnt in Egypt. But, it is true, Tenesee is a strange choice. His family is from Texas. Maybe his fiance's family lives in Tenesee now.

Answer to the question of the day: His fiancee lives in Tennessee (and has lived there for the past several years, maybe decades). I met her in Egypt and traveled with her in Jerusalem, and she's a wonderful person. Diaa and I definitely encouraged this one from "behind the scenes."

good for you, dena. Props for pushing this one.

Perhaps we could arrange a secret wedding crash, and all show up in belly-dancing outfits. He would love that--any anger would just be for show...trust me, I know this man.

it's settled then! Belly dancing outfits, gallabayas for those wanting to be a bit more modest! Code word for this mission: Flowergirl of the Empire (or ring bearer for those wanting to be a bit more masculine)...
